[Linux-bruxelles] probleme lilo et 2 debian sur 2 ddurs

Voici ce qui se passe:
sur hda4 (darkstar) je n'ai presque plus de palce, enfin 300 mb; j'ai
donc installé une nouvelle Woody sur hdd5 (protheus) avec un home en
hdd6 et swap sur hdd2. (note: sur hdd bcp plus de place).
J'ai cp lilo.conf de l'ancienne et ai modifié root=/dev/hda4 en
root=/dev/hdd5
mais au moment d'écrire # lilo il donne un msg de io/err sur hdb (qui
est mon Iomega zip) non present dans le device.
Croyant flairer les ennuis, je réécris lilo en ayant remodifié root à
nouveau en /dev/hda4 et re # lilo:
eh bien j'ai dû rebooter sur une disquette DOS et faire un fdisk /mbr
puis booter mon ancienne Deb (darkstar) via c:\darkstar at loadlin vmlinuz
etc, réécrire # lilo à partir de là et j'ai enfin pu réutiliser le
menu lilo.

Jérôme me précisait hier que mon kernel doit se trouver dans les 1024
premiers secteurs, qq'un d'autre m'a plutôt conseillé de passer en grub.

Alors:
a) lilo ? si encore possible je fais comment?
b) ou grub?
