ce n'est pas la meme chose que "sudo su -". Le "-" force le shell a  
prendre les variables d'environnement de root plutot que de celles de

que dit "ls -l `which ld`"? (attention aux apostrophes inverses)
et "ls -l /home/ruth/usbcam/usbcam_dev.o"?
